The Corinth Canal is expected to reopen for navigation around 29 June 2026, following extensive restoration works aimed at stabilizing its steep banks and surrounding infrastructure. The prolonged closure, which extends through early 2026, has been necessary to complete complex engineering upgrades that will ensure safer and more reliable long-term operation.These improvements, while essential, have impacted early-season maritime traffic and tourism, particularly for vessels that traditionally transit the canal as part of their itineraries.
